Mirror

I'd love to find out why
I can not trust the sky
For it is all I see
Please take my life from me

When the morning falls
I rebuild all my walls
I rise up off the floor
I will lie no more

Mirror on the wall
Ready to risk it all
I've seen what you have done
I'm not the only one

This house ain't haunted yet
But you still fear the dead
That's not a wise remark
Fall victim to the dark

Though it occurs to me
How good things used to be
All that was is gone
You've taken every pawn

The king has left his throne
His kingdom overthrown
In his ruins lies
Echoes of unheard cries

Who's the fairest of them all
the one to take the fall
the one I always see
Who is looking back at me

I see the reign come down
The king has lost his crown
It happened all so fast
It wasn't meant to last

Why can I see this scene
And smell the gasoline
For this is all too near
My reflection is clear

How could I not have known
I'm in this all alone
I watched the walls cave in
Was that my greatest sin?

As echoes start to fade
The spotlight turns to shade
The window starts to close
Is this the choice I choose?

The screams I used to hear
Are soon to reach no ear
And what I thought they'd catch
Has settled with the ash

Are you happy now
Stand up and take a bow
I sang my twisted song
You wrote it all along

Look what you have done
You took from everyone
And now that I am gone
You're free to carry on

This mistake I made
Has sent me to the grave
I wish I understood
That I'd be here for good

"Please don't follow me
Into this deadly sea"
I plead from down below
They'll never hear me though
